Wolfy's Story

Wolfy is cat #1 from what became a 100 cat rescue in 2025. South County Cats was contacted by a homeowner who said he had 70 "American Curl" cats on his property that had been left behind by a breeder three years ago. Read more at American Curls rescue.

On our first trip to the property in March, there were cats EVERYWHERE! We received four kittens, approximately 6 weeks old. Their foster home named them Wolverine (Wolfy), Wonder Woman, Iron Man and Batman. 

We learned that "American Curl" is not a breed, but a genetic mutation. Not all of the cats and kittens we rescued had curled ears, but Wolfy sure did.

Wolfy spent time in four different foster homes (including a foster-to-adopt home where unfortunately the resident cat was not interested in having a kitten join her) and was adopted to a wonderful forever home.
